Information about Eastern Madera County
Surrounded by the tall pine and cedar trees of the Sierra National
Forest in Eastern Madera county, one of the most popular
vacation spots in central California, Bass Lake, has become a favorite spot
for boaters, water-skiers, swimmers and fisherman, as they appreciate the
lake’s warm water. The water temperature of the lake reaches 72 to 80
degrees during the summer. Fishermen enjoy the relatively good fishing the
lake has to offer. The lake is stocked every year by the Department of Fish
& Game. There are several types of trout, bass, kokanee, catfish, crappie
and bluegill.
